5 Reasons Why I’m Proud to be an “Autistic Business Owner”

You might be wondering why I’m even drawing attention to the fact that I have autism. Surely that’s something that’s better kept behind doors?

But for me it’s such a huge part of my identity that I cannot separate my autism from myself. It’s literally the wiring in my brain that makes me think and feel the way that I do. The best analogy I’ve been able to think of to describe what it’s like to be autistic, is to try running windows on an apple mac. It’s the same processing system that most people use, but my brain isn’t able to use it correctly.

Rather than hiding what makes me “me”, I thought I’d write a blog highlighting the benefits that having autism can bring. Yes, you heard that right. The benefits. Autism is a difficult condition to live with, it is disabling in a society that isn’t geared up for us, but some of the traits my autism has given me has made me a better business owner, and you’re about to find out why. Why You Should be Re-purposing Your Blog Content Today

It can be difficult keeping on top of your blog.

As if sitting down to write the posts wasn’t difficult enough. You’ve got to think of topics to write about (that includes research if you’re doing it properly), plan when you’re going to publish them and the social media to go with them and monitor how well they’re doing.

Get to know the writer behind Words by Zoe – Zoe Hughes

I don’t know about you, but I’m a curious cat.

I like to know the people behind the computer screen, hidden away typing at me on a keyboard.

That’s not always an easy thing to do, and too often we place judgement on the small profile picture we come across on social media.
